“My name is Ellysa and I am one of the instructors for the Caring Kids Collective at ACSS. Becoming a program instructor with Caring Kids was an amazing way for me to get to know my community and what it means to connect with the children in our inner city schools. I have been able to have the privilege to share the goal of achieving kindness through giving back to the community and understanding what it means to unite and work together. The Caring Kids Collective is about striving towards unity, inclusivity, caring, and learning to be apart of a community that celebrates what we each have to offer as individuals. Being an Instructor at ACSS has given me the opportunity to not only be apart of Caring Kids, but also be able to contribute my skills in other programs such as, basketball, rugby, volleyball, guided art, and leadership programs! I have been able to meet all different kinds of faces, each unique, wonderful and bright. I feel extremely grateful to be an instructor in my community, and ACSS has been able to make my ideas and aspirations come to life by valuing me as an individual.
